How to get a Library Card:
To sign up for a free library card please visit either White County Library Cleveland or White County Library Helen! You can also start the registration process here and finish in person with a photo ID. If you intend to only use our e-books or audiobooks through Libby, or other online services, you can receive an e-card number for use on those; if you ever decide to check out print materials we can switch your card in person at one of our branches!(View the video at Niche Academy for information about registering!)
What happens if we do not have what you are looking for?
If our library doesn’t have what you’re looking for, we can borrow books from over 300 PINES libraries in the state and we can borrow CDs, DVDs, and audiobooks from the other five libraries in our region. White County Library Cleveland has a courier service that runs every weekday to deliver these items to our patrons. With a library card you will also have access to online research databases, reference books, genealogy tools, and interactive language-learning resources through Galileo.
How do I get Libby?
After your PINES account is set up you can register at libbyapp.com or download the Libby app to search our inventory of e-books, audiobooks, and magazines. When registering, find our library by searching for Georgia Download Destination.
We have computers!
Both Branches have public computers available for use. Patron’s are able to sign onto these computers using their library card number. If you have any issues, you can bring it to the desk and we will be happy to assist you. White County Library staff will answer basic questions about computer use, but staff cannot provide in-depth training on how to use the computer or Internet. Staff also cannot advise or assist patrons with tax, financial, medical, or other private records due to liability issues. If you need assistance please bring someone with you who can quietly help you or seek a basic computer course nearby.
We have a specialized computer for the visually impaired with an adjustable-height table, JAWS screen reader, NVDA screen reader, and ZoomText..
Printing Prices
The prints from our computers and black and white copies are $0.15 per 8×11 page.
Color prints and copies are $1.00 per 8×11 page. Legal and ledger size papers are available at an additional cost.
Faxes are $1.00 per page to send and $0.50 per page to receive.
We also laminate, but please call ahead as our machine takes time to heat up. The front desk staff can give you an estimate of the cost when the item is brought in as we charge per running foot.
Some more services we offer are scaning to email for no charge!
Need To Rent Our Meeting Room?
Both Library branches have a community room that is available for rental throughout the year, excepting the summer months when our Summer Reading Program is in full swing. Please call for information regarding the community room.
